Getting your airline's flights onto RoFlightTracker24 takes a few minutes and no scripting. Everything happens in Roblox Studio through our plugin, and the result is checked for you before anyone flies. This guide goes through it in the order you will actually do it.
Before you start
- Create your airline on RoFlightTracker24. Sign in with Discord and follow the setup, it asks for a name, a code and a logo.
- Link your Roblox account in account settings. We check that the game sending flights belongs to you or to a group you own.
- Publish your place at least once. Unpublished places have no owner that Roblox can confirm.
1. Install the plugin
Open your airline's dashboard and go to Install tracker. Download the plugin, then in Studio right-click Workspace, choose Insert from File and pick the file. Right-click the new RoFlightTracker24Plugin and choose Save as Local Plugin. A Flight tracking button appears in the Plugins tab. Your airline's key is already inside, so one press on Install tracker adds the tracker script to ServerScriptService.
Roblox only lets you switch on web requests yourself: in Home, Game Settings, Security, turn on Allow HTTP Requests and save. If Studio asks whether the plugin may reach roflighttracker24.com, allow it.
2. Pick your planes
Select a plane model in the 3D view or the Explorer. Your fleet from the dashboard is listed in the plugin, press Track next to the matching registration. An orange arrow shows which way the tracker thinks the nose points; if it points sideways, press Turn nose 90 degrees until it is right. Planes made by spawners are tracked too, because the plugin adds a small script that tags every copy.
3. Mark your runways
In step 3 of the plugin, search for the real airport your game airport represents, for example Arlanda or ESSA. Pick the runway you built from the list and press Place. Then click the two ends of your runway in the 3D view: first the end with the first number painted on it, then the other end. Runway markers are invisible parts that nothing in the game can touch.
The plugin checks each airport against the real runways and tells you if something looks off, for example two markers on the same spot, or a second runway drawn at a very different angle to the real one. You need at least two airports. Built more than one runway at an airport? Mark each one.
4. Optional: the gate area
Under an airport with its runways marked, press Place gate area and click the middle of your terminal. Then open Install tracker on the website, find the airport under Gate areas and click where the real terminal is on the satellite map. Planes parked at your stands then show at the real stands.
5. Fly
Publish the game, join it and take off. A flight starts counting once the plane has really flown, not when it spawns or taxis, and it shows up on the live map within seconds. Scheduled flights on your dashboard are matched automatically by aircraft and departure airport, so the flight gets the right number. If a plane flies without one, the site asks you for a number or lets you mark it as a ferry flight.
Keeping up to date
The plugin checks for new versions of itself and of the tracker every time it syncs. When a new one is out, a button appears; nothing changes until you press it. After updating the tracker, publish your game so live servers use it.
